- Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 pkg vanilla sugar
- 75 g sugar
- 75 g margarine
- 500 g quark (curd cheese)
- 75 ml milk
- 50 g semolina
- 1 tbsp flour
- juice and grated rind of a lemon
- 2 large apples (ca. 500 g)
- bread crumbs
- 3-4 tbsp shaved almonds
- 2-3 tbsp apricot jam
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Preparation:

Separate eggs and beat egg whites with vanilla sugar until stiff. Beat egg yolks together with sugar and margarine until creamy and then add quark, milk, semolina, flour, and grated lemon rind. Mix well and fold in the stiff egg whites.
Peel, core, slice apples in wedges, and dribble on lemon juice.
Grease a casserole and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Pour quark mixture into the casserole, arrange apple wedges on top, and spread on shaved almonds.
Bake for ca. 45 minutes at 180° C. After 30 minutes heat jam and pour over the casserole. Sprinkle on sugar and continue baking.
