- Ingredients:
- For the Dough:
- 500 g flour
- 200 g sugar
- 250 g soft butter
- 3 eggs
- pinch of salt
- 1 vial of butter-vanilla flavouring
- 1 pkg baking powder
- For the Filling:
- 1 kg apples
- 2 pkg vanilla sugar
- 30 g grated almonds
- 100 g raisins
- bit of cinnamon
Preparation:

Combine flour and baking powder, sift into a large bowl, and distribute sugar over this. Form a hollow in the middle of the mixture and add butter, eggs, salt, and flavouring. Knead to a dough, break in half, and thinly roll out both halves.
Peel, core, and grate apples and spread evenly on both dough halves. Then distribute vanilla sugar, raisins, ground almonds, and cinnamon on top, and roll both dough halves both dough halves up. Press the ends together.
Bake on the middle rack of the oven for ca. 60 minutes at 180-200° C.
Serve warm with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or vanilla sauce.
Tip: If you happen to have some on hand, a dash of Calvados can be added to the filling.
