- Ingredients:
- 120 g butter
- 120 g sugar
- 180 g flower
- 1 pkg vanilla sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- ½ pkg baking powder
- a bit of milk
- For the Topping:
- 5 egg whites
- 150 g icing sugar
- 1,5 kg apples for the purée (or 1 kg canned apple purée)
- 3 pkg transparent glaze
Preparation:

An apple cake as good as grandma’s. Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla until it is fluffy. Mix in the egg yolks and beat until foamy. Alternately mix in the flour, baking powder and milk until smooth.
Spread the mixture on a baking pan lined with baking (or waxed) paper and pre-bake lightly at 170° C for 15-30 minutes.
Mix warmed apple purée with the glaze and spread on the warm dough. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, then gradually beat in sugar until stiff peaks form.Spread the beaten egg whites on the apple purée when it has firmed up. Bake for another 10 minutes. The apple cake is ready to eat!
