Recipe - Corn on the Cob with Butter

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 ears corn
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt, pepper
  • 8 tooth picks

Preparation:

The other day I was walking by husked corn on the cob in the supermarket. Since I had never cooked it before, I thought it was about time to try this.

Thoroughly wash and halve ears. If you buy the corn directly from the field, then you must of course remove the husks.

Place corn in a pot with lightly salted cold water. When the water boils, cook corn ca. 10-15 minutes until it is tender.

Just before the corn is tender, melt butter without browning.

Remove cooked corn from water with a perforated ladle, drain on paper towels. Stick tooth picks into corn as shown on photo.

Pour melted butter over corn and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Note: Corn on the cob with melted butter can be eaten right from the cob. The tooth picks prevent your fingers from burning and they don’t get greasy. Corn on the cob is an excellent side dish when barbecuing.
